The Pacific becomes schizophrenic

First Australia passes new sedition laws - then New Zealand tells itself it should do away with all sedition laws.

Ken, it's Australia that just passed new sedition laws and New Zealand where a commission just recommended abolishing them. Two different countries, going in opposite directions in regards to freedom. Maybe it's the Maori cultural influence...

Although it does sound like the NZers had just about forgotten that a sedition law was still on the books until a couple of recent prosecutions...
